Again; why bother grouping together? Why not just everyone act independently and be a free-thinking lone-wolf? Because history has shown that the Greek-phalanx and the Roman-tortoise-formation changed the world. How many can build their own house or car (beginning from mining raw materials) all alone by themselves? Yet most enjoy houses and cars built by various collectives working together. Some may bitch about big companies, but if it wasn't for those big companies of individuals working collectively to build houses or cars, those complainers would be living in huts and riding animals.
What exactly is "religion"?
Latin re+ligāre to tie-up, fasten, bind (together), a tie/bond;
stem religiō conscientiousness;
compare ligament = band of tissue serving to hold organs in place.
Something can be a tie/bond/ligament uniting/binding people together.
So religion is something which binds people together via conscientiousness
like organs are bound together by a ligament.
