    • Vindawg Vinnie For those who don't get it: tobacco-addiction is just another addiction; Atheism is just another religion.

    • Vindawg Vinnie For those who don't see how Atheism is actually a religion, but are OPEN-MINDED; I'd be most willing to show you point-by-point how Atheism has EVERY characteristic of other religions (e.g., pilgrimages to sacred relics of mumified saints, obeisance before idols of saints, inquisitions & purges of millions of contra-believers, blind obediance to sacred scriptures, jihad-crusades, sacred-martyrdoms, etc, etc).

    • Vindawg Vinnie Just as all Christians are NOT the same, so also all Atheistians are NOT the same. Just as what Christians are supposed to be on paper and what they really are is not the same, so also what Atheistians are supposed to be on paper and what they really are is not the same.

    • Vindawg Vinnie If you do none of those, then you are in reality a "NON-theist" (like me) and not an Atheist. This distinction is not something I just woke up this morning thinking about. It's something I have been documenting for years. A NON-theist abstains from trying to prove either theory: that there is or is no deity.

    • Vindawg Vinnie I am well aware that it's a shocking thought for most who think they are Atheists, but so was Copernicus' idea that the Sun does not go around the Earth.

    • Vindawg Vinnie I am NOT descussing theories or what should or shouldn't be. I am discussing ACTUAL REALITIES which caused millions to suffer & die under horrible conditions perpetrated by Atheistians. As George Santayana said: "Those who are ignorant of history are DOOMED to repeat the same mistakes".

    • Vindawg Vinnie Yes, there were Atheistians who contributed science, as well as Muslims & Christians. So?!? Fact still remains that Atheism has all the characteristics of RELIGION. As George Santayana said: "Those who are ignorant of history are DOOMED to repeat the same mistakes".

    • Dimitri Fotopoulos Vindawg, to me a belief in the total absence of a deity is still a belief system. Is that what you are saying?

    • Chris Archer I think he's saying that there are people who call themselves atheists that still have ritualized behaviors and take too many things for granted and haven't logically worked things out in their life and aren't particularly aware, leading to behaviors that are just like religious behaviors. Perhaps devout-to-the-state North Koreans, or devout-to-a-ridiculous-idea-of-what-is-natural Californians, or religion-must-be-stopped-at-all-costs-for-any-reason-even-if-we-seem-like-jerks types. If you are doing atheism correctly by what the word means, it's no more a religion than not collecting stamps is a hobby. If you spend all your time/effort/energy identifying as an atheist and having to defend yourself against critics instead of simply existing in the universe as it is without apology, human culture will creep in and create and codify behaviors and subvert your pure existence. If one is sure there is no deity around, then we can be free to shoulder the burden of our existence ourselves. With doubts and arguments, people can not feel fully free to stand without thinking that the universe is somehow propping them up. (I'm rambling, going to stop typing now.)

Kind of what I though might be happening to some atheists, but put far more succinctly than I could ever articulate. Thank you!

    • Vindawg Vinnie As I mentioned above, history & current-events demonstrate that ATHEISTianity is not just "not-collecting-stamps". In REALITY, it is a very ACTIVE "hobby" of campaigning, converting, forcing, intimidating, suing, threatening, torturing, even killing other people not to "collect-stamps". Just quietly abstaining from "collecting-stamps" (god-ism) is termed NON-theism, but ATHEISTians (Atheists) are in-REALITY ANTI-theists with agendas, with websites, with ACTIONS to force their religious-doctrine just as the Holy-Christian-Inquisition & Holy-Islamist-Jihad have done & are doing. I am not spewing theory; I have my own personal experience with ATHEISTian jihad-inquisition and many, MANY 1st-hand accounts from witnesses. Webster's dictionary says that Atheism is a DOCTRINE, and actively promoting a DOCTRINE is way, WAY more than just not "collecting-stamps". Whatever profession you are, readers, what would you think of someone without training in your profession talking to you as if they knew all about it because they looked up a word in a dictionary? What would y'all think of someone not trained in a medical school telling a neurosurgeon what it's all about just because they looked up that word in a dictionary? But I have no desire to convert anyone to my way of thinking. I didn't intend to debate this here. I mentioned above that I have done years of research where I found that ATHEISTianity has all the characteristics of religion which I would share with those few who wish to consider my research OPEN-mindedly.

All that Really Matters

"There are thousands of religions, philosophies, political-parties, opinions, & awards, but when all is said & done, in the end everyone dies, and all that really matters is whether or not one learned in good time, how to just LIVE HAPPILY without diminishing others.”–©Vinnieosophy–20Mar2015

Non-Violence ?!?

"Nonviolence"?!? Ok, how about nonsickness, nonignorance, nonanimosity, nonpoverty, nonboredom, noninhumaneness, nondarkness, noncold, etc.? Those words sound silly, don't they? Well so does "nonviolence"! When will humans learn that focusing on what is not wanted brings that very thing about? How about focusing on the desired opposites (to violence): COURTESY, tolerance, acceptance, celebration, appreciation, cooperation, consensus, compromise, dialogue, understanding, harmony, thriving, team-work, empathy, etc.?--Vindawg12Mar2015
