    • That's a sad & unfortunate thing. However, everything in universe is cause-&-effect. If one wonders why that is happening, and y God allows it to happen, all one needs to do is look through history at how much discrimination, imprisonment, torture, kidnapping, death, Inquisition, burning-@-the-stake, genocide, Crusades, rapes, etc were committed by Christians in the name of Christ, and it all becomes clear. :-(

    • BTW, we still go to Christian church and try our darnest to make the best of it, but the truth is the truth, and the truth is that Christians have committed more crimes against humanity than any other religion (incl Islam).

    • The crusades were a sad thing. And I'm sad to say a lot of religions have committed bloodshed as well. It is very difficult to find those few who truly devote themselves to Christ. People have killed in the name of Christ and claimed to be Christians but their heart and motives were wrong and not the Christ of the Bible. And true Christ followers welcome Jews and still believe as I do that they are God's chosen people. I respect your search of truth and understand why you would share the link. But I do feel as though you are looking at one side of the picture and not the whole. The bible does not teach this violence. In Matthew 7, Jesus Himself warns of false prophetshttp://www.blueletterbible.org/Bible.cfm?b=Mat&c=7&t=NIV#22

He also warns that not everyone who does these deeds are of the Father. "Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?" He tells them to depart from Him for He never knew them. Many people confuse the tradition of Catholicism with Christianity. There are Catholics who are indeed Christians. All over the bible there are people who were martyred for their faith and did not fight back. The puritans and the leaders of the crusades thought they were doing what was right in God's eyes but were not following the teachings of the bible. I do have a problem with the comment on the link that in "Brazil and Guatemala it continues to this day." My sister lived in Brazil as well as her friend as a missionary and this was most definitely not the case. Throughout the bible, God and even Jesus speaks of Grace and Forgiveness. I would encourage you if you would like to read the book of Hebrews and Romans. The focal point of Christianity is that it is "by grace through faith that you are saved, NOT by works so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Eph 2:8-10. Georgia, my sister, also knows of people by name who are still persecuted for their faith. Thank you for your time in reading this I know it is a lot. I just don't want you to confuse my Jesus with tradition or other religions out there..

    • Hey, hey Molly,

I did read all of what you wrote. Thank you for taking the time.

In case you'd like to continue this discourse, see below.
And if u'd rather not, that's OK too.

As a form of intro, I'll tell u something about me that very few know in the Swing-dance scene. I am an ordained Christian cleric. I preached-in & pastored many churches. I have a double post-graduate degree from a fully-accredited Christian Theological-Seminary. I still have memberships in all the various Christian denominations that I fellowshipped with in my many moves. And as I said before, we still go to Christian church.

All that doesn't change the facts of history and even CURRENT events. When the numbers of atrocities are tallied, the Christians still take the "gold-medal" way, WAY above the "silver." And not just what was done to Jews, Muslims, and others, but also what has been done and is still done to each other.

So I shouldn't consider Catholics Christians?
1 Billion of them might disagree.
      And are Protestants better?
There are thousands of examples; I'll just site 1:
Dr Miguel Serveto was condemned to death by burning-@-the-stake by the Catholics because he wrote a theological opinion that didn't agree with official Catholic dogma.
Somehow he was able to escape, so he fled to Geneva, Switzerland figuring he'd be safe with the father of the Reformed denominations, John Calvin. Turns out ol' Calvin didn't like Miguel's opinion either, so Calvin the GREAT anti-Catholic Protestant Reformer, had Miguel burned ALIVE @-the-stake?!? And this is the GREAT Calvin who is revered today by so many Christian-Protestants as a GREAT Christian reformer. Tit-for-tat, the Protestants tried their best not to be too far in horror, behind their mother the Catholic Church.

Even in our own PRESENT-DAY, South Korean Christian-Evangelicals are going around burning Buddhist temples, and are being praised by their clergy (pastors); what's up with that?!? And how about the never-ending revenge and counter-revenge between Catholics & Protestants in N Ireland? And how about the Christian Hutu clerics who committed genocide on the Tutsi's in Rwanda?

We got to call it like it is. Buddhists have a history 500 years longer than Christianity. They should have 500 years MORE of burning people alive. Where are those? There should be 1/5 MORE atrocities among Buddhists but they don't even have 1/10 of what Christians have done?!? That is an undisputed fact that has to be admitted to honestly and w/o bias. Before Christians go everywhere trying to teach everyone else "The Only Right Way to be," Christians owe the world a big, BIG apology for the HORROR & holocaust perpetrated during the last 1700 years since taking power during Constantine.

When I was a Christian missionary in Japan, they often asked me: "How is it that Christian-America has so much violence, dishonesty & crime, while Buddhist-Japan was so peaceful, polite, clean, & honest." (WWII was started by Imperial-Shinto which took over Japan like the Nazis took over Germany.)
That was a good question to ponder. I eventually figured out an answer, but it wasn't easy.
There is just something in Christianity that made it like Taliban in attitude. Perhaps it's the attitude: "We're the only ones that are right; all others are doomed to hell."

Religious progress considered blasphemy

Religious progress considered bad by way too many

In each of 5 of the 6 aspects of experience, progress is applauded:
1) Body (e.g., Olympics),
2) Brains (e.g., Nobel-Prizes),
3) Breeding (e.g., Social Register),
4) Bounty (e.g., Forbes-400),
5) Bonvivance (e.g., being invited to A-List galas).

However, progress in the 6th aspect, Being, is traditionally considered:
anathema, apostasy, blasphemy, sacrilege, & sin by way too many people.

Well, Vinneosophy teaches that progress is also applaudable in this aspect as well.
Those who are attached to traditional faith communities,
are encouraged to explore the more advanced thinkers of their respective traditions.
Preferably visit with them once in a while, or at least read what they got to say.

As of this writing,
Vinneosophy sees following as possibly some on cutting edge of progress
in their respective traditions:

*️⃣ INTERFAITH, e.g.:  United Religions Initiative,  Parliament of World Religions,  KAICIID,
Abrahamic Reunion,  FPCI-1000-Abrahamic-Circles,  Int Assoc for Rel Freedom,
     Interfaith-TampaBay,  Temple-of-Understanding,
     etc,

✝️Pauline-Constantinianity (a.k.a., Christianity), e.g.:  Sunstone Foundation & Magazine,
World Council of Churches,  National Council of Churches,  Churches Uniting in Christ,
           etc,

⚛️Humanism, e.g.:  Unitarian-Universalists,  Ethical-Culture,  Sunday-Assemblies,
           etc,

⚛️NewThought, e.g.:  Centers for Spiritual Living,  Unity Spiritual Community,  Noetic-Sciences,
International NewThought Associations,  Association for Global NewThought,
           etc,

👳🏻‍♂️Sikhism, e.g.:  3HO Organization,
Nanakian Philosophy: Path of Enlightenment by Baldev Singh, Ph.D.,
           etc,

🕉Hinduism, e.g.:  Chopra Center for Wellbeing,  Self Realization Fellowship,
           etc,

☸️Buddhism, e.g.:  Soka-Gakkai-International-USA,  d'Secret,
           What-d'Bleep-do-We-Know
           etc,

☪️Islam, e.g.:  Imam-of-Peace,  American-Islamic-Forum-for-Democracy,  Sufis,  Ahmadiyya,  Druze,
           Bahai,
           etc,

✡️Judaism, e.g.:  Reform,  Reconstructionist,  Renewal,  Jewish-Science,
           etc,

So dare to think, explore, experiment, & test.
Flush religious bigotry, and keep that which works to promote HAPPINESS for all.

Police & military have 2 deal w/failures of clergy

Police & military have to deal with the failures of the clergy.

So the 4,015 (or so) Earth religions,
instead of splintering and bickering about the 80% useless b.s.,
need to significantly reduce the work-load of the police & military
by training people to think, speak & act ethically from within;
produce a tidal-wave of individual-personal human crevolution (creative revolution+evolution).

Everybody talks "world-peace,"
but ...

“From the least to the greatest,
   all are greedy for gain;
prophets and priests alike,
   all practice deceit.
They dress the wound of my people
as though it were not serious.
‘Peace, peace,’ they say,
   when there is no peace
Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct?
   No, they have no shame at all;
they do not even know how to blush.
So they will fall among the fallen;
they will be brought down when they are punished.
When I punish them,
I will give their wives to other men
and their fields to new owners.”
            says the LORD.

Jeremiah 6:13-15; 8:10-12
New International Version (NIV)

Solution?
                                                5) cooperate with or w/o compromise
with every & any constructive group
                                                      which promotes tolerance, appreciation, celebration,
participation & cooperation (like saving a child
from a burning building though u’r not a fireman).
                                    4) participate in as much as you can
(like Chinese New-Year though u’r not Chinese),
                        3) celebrate that beautiful variety
(like StPatrick's-Day though u'r not Irish),
            2) appreciate differences in others
(because variety is the spice of life),
1) tolerate differences in others,

Once you "ate" these 5 meals with others, you'll be friends and @ peace.

An example of cooperation:

In roller-derby, jammer's (scorer’s) 4 teammates help them get through the pack
by giving a pull or "whip" to the jammer.
Imagine the jammer-scorer behind one of the other 4 teammates.
A "whip" is a move where the jammer takes a blocker's hand,
and then the blocker catapults (sling-shoots) the jammer through
to help them increase their speed.

Amen=Omein=Amin=Aum=Amun-Ra=Egyptian Sun-god

  • Amen
    Amen = Omein = Amin = Aum = Amun-Ra = Egyptian Sun-god

Every time Christians, Jews, & Muslims say "amen,"
    they're commemorating this Egyptian god.
    Every time Hindus chant "aum,"
    they're commemorating this Egyptian god.

Amen (Amon), Amen-Ra, King of the Gods, and the Triad of Thebes
Among the gods who were known to the Egyptians in very early times were Amen and his consort Ament, and their names are found in the Pyramid Texts, e.g., Unas, line 558, where they are mentioned immediately after the pair of gods Nau and Nen, and in connection with the twin Lion-gods Shu and Tefnut, who are described as the two gods who made their own bodies, and with the goddess Temt, the female counterpart of Tem. It is evident that even in the remote period of the Vth Dynasty Amen and Ament were numbered among the primeval gods ..."

Need an angel 2 tell u murder isn't best way?

Do you need some extra-terrestrial angel to tell you that murdering one another is not the best way to live?

Do you need some “Ascended-Master” to tell you through a medium that being a home-wrecker is not the best way to practice happiness?

Do you need some guru with a turban to tell you that robbing one another just brings misery?

Do you need a skin-&-bone fasting yogi fakir holy-man to tell you that slander hurts both the slanderer & slanderee?

Do you need Jesus, StGermaine, Nanak, Krishna, Buddha, Muhammad, Moses, Elohim, Gabriel, Moroni, etc. to tell you that contemplating conspiracy to attempt any of the above just keeps you negatively occupied from using your little-brain for constructive, happy, pro-survival activities?

Accept the responsibility for happiness-constructive thinking, speaking, & acting.
Instead of waiting for someone else to be the
Christian Savior,
Muslim Mahdi,
Buddhist Maitreya,
Hindu Kalki, or
Zoroastrian Saoshyant,
become one yourself.

Become the solution.

“A small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.
It is the only thing that ever has.”
--Margaret Mead
