"The point of this whole thing is

to keep getting smarter,

to keep growing,

to use as much of your brain as possible.

For instance, I use 48% of my brain."

Bob asks Daniel how much of his brain Daniel uses.

Daniel smiles and guesses, "47?" [%].

Bob says, "3" [%].

Number shocks Daniel.

"Excuse me? 3?" [%].

Bob tries to reassure him that it isn't unusual because

no one on Earth uses more than 3-5% of their brains.

"When you use more than 5% of your brain, you don't want to be on Earth.

… there are many more exciting destinations for smarter people,"

Diamond tells him.

Daniel's defense attorney continues:

"Being from Earth as you are and using as little of your brain as you do,

your life has been pretty much devoted to dealing with fear."

Diamond asks Daniel if any of his friends have stomach pains. He tells him all of them do.

That's fear, Diamond tells him.

"Fear is like a giant fog. It sits on your brain and blocks everything.

Real feelings, true happiness, real joy. They can't get through that fog.

But you lift it, and buddy, you're in for the ride of your life.

Everybody on Earth deals with fear. That's what little brains do," Bob tells him.

“God has not given us a spirit of fear,

but of power and of love and of a sound [smart]-mind.”

“Rejoice … always: and again I say, Rejoice.”

"Little-brains?" Daniel asks.

"That's what we call you folks behind your backs,"
