Defending a Jehovah's-Witness

Kevin 22Oct2012 2:38pm

  • I am deeply saddened today:-(

My daughter's friend was told not to associate with my daughter because my daughter is a Jehovah's Witness and they don't believe in Jesus. It's so sad for many reasons with there first being no truth in that statement, second, her own daughter was not prepared for the dismantle of friendship in such a way, and my daughter had to tell her friend that her mother was inaccurate because Jehovah's Witnesses know that Jesus is the Father's only begotten Son. I am so sorry that my daughter had to experience that in her last year of elemenatary but glad she was aware that such thoughts exist.

    • Joshua Blanchard Sadly, the issue here is that jehovah's witnesses and Christians are not the same. Any religion that adds more doctrine and tradition to the Bible rather than using the Bible as the one and only final authority of God's word is simply a cult. Therefore, the jehovah's witnesses are a cult. Don't believe me? See for yourself. Direct ties to satanism.

Perhaps your daughter's friend's mother sees that her daughter isn't strong enough in the word to know the difference and is afraid her daughter might get caught up in the deception. Sure the JWs believe in Jesus. So does Satan. I know all you JWs out there mean well. God bless your hearts. But please study this out. It's a false religion, just like the Mormons and just like the catholics etc. Oh, and let's not forget the oh so popular prosperity gospel. This is also false. The word of God is not to be used as a marketing tool. He does not condone PURSUING wealth, and teaching others to do the same. In fact, he condemns it. I could throw tons of scripture at that if anybody wants it. Sorry, off topic. Not trying to offend anybody here. Just standing up for the truth, and sending the warning.

The picture below is the same scene as above, but without the zoom.  Notice the illuminati pyramid.  This is where Charles Taze Russell is buried.

Religious bigotry is perhaps worse than other kinds because religion supposedly teaches LOVE for EVERYONE. Especially those who say they believe in Jesus, ought practice such LOVE. I am all for including J-W's in the family of Christendom. However, to be fair, I must admit that J-W's also practice religious-bigotry towards other sub-sets of Christendom. Though I have attended J-W meetings many times (and think they are fine people), I found that J-W's refuse to visit other churches, and refuse to pray with other Christians unless they are the ones leading the prayer. So this bigotry goes both ways. Why don't you go visit your daughter's-friend's church with your whole family to show that you are not religious-bigots? Then invite that girl's family to visit your Kingdom-Hall in return. They'll probably refuse the first invite, so visit their church more than once. Eventually they may feel obligated to return the gesture and visit your Kingdom-Hall.

___Really Joshua Blanchard? Are you Kevin Mack’s friend? Doesn’t sound like it. Sounds like a lot of ugly accusations.
___What is a cult? It is anything and everything that a person doesn’t-understand or doesn’t-like. So let me get this straight, every other point-of-view is a cult, except ONLY-YOUR-POINT-of-VIEW? ONLY your cult (oops I mean “true-religion”) is the correct one, and all Christians who are not members of your cult (oops there I go again; I mean “true-religion”) are not Christians? I am not a J-W myself because I don’t see certain things their way, but I would never demonize them, Satanize them, or exclude them from the family of Christendom. 1 of the most admirable things about them is their strong conscientious-objection to participating in combat. While other “Christians” cooperated with the Satanic Nazi war-machine, J-W’s suffered death in concentration camps along with Jews rather than participate in killing. What was the stand that your “true-religion” took on that issue?

___J-W’s ARE Christians, though not the same as all other Christians. But then which Christians are the SAME as all other Christians? Variety is not a bad thing. In my Christian journey, I have taken-up memberships in (& even been a pastor in some) of these:
      Congregationalist,
      Presbyterian,
      Episcopalian,
      Church-of-the-Brethren,
      Southern-Baptist.
      Are they cults as well?
What, prey-tell, is the name of your non-cult “only-true-church” that I may visit it?
Can you really claim that whatever church you go to has the EXACT-SAME doctrine & tradition as that found in the Bible? For example, I’d bet you do NOT practice this Bible tradition:

Acts 2:44-46 King James Version (KJV):
      “ 44 And all that believed were together, and HAD ALL THINGS COMMON;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their food with gladness and singleness of heart.”

Acts 2:44-46 New Living Translation (NLT)
“ 44 And all the believers met together in one place and SHARED EVERYTHING THEY HAD. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity.”

___There are MANY, MANY such examples I could quote, so BE SLOW TO ACCUSE OTHER CHRISTIANS of being a cult for not following Bible-traditions.

___Your words, “I could throw tons of scripture at that if anybody wants it,” sounds like Bible-bashing, using the Bible to beat-down others and prove them wrong. I thought that we’re supposed to …
      Matthew 5:16
“Let your light so shine before men, that THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

___Not trying to offend anybody here. Just standing up for the truth, and sending the warning:

1 Corinthians 1:11-13 King James Version (KJV)
11 there are contentions among you.
12 every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
      13 IS CHRIST DIVIDED?

      1 Corinthians 3:3-5
3 there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal?
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

      2 Timothy 3:2-4
2 For men shall be boasters,
3 false ACCUSERS, despisers of those that are good,
      4 Traitors, heady, more than lovers of God;

___Not trying to offend anybody here. Just standing up for the truth, and sending the warning:
      Revelation 12:10
“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the ACCUSER OF OUR BRETHREN is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.”

___If there was such a thing as a “Satanic-conspiracy,”
by turning Christians against each other,
one is dividing (cutting-up) the body of Christ,
      making Christianity easier to defeat
      (as in “divide-&-conquer”),
& IS HIMSELF, THEREBY, AN AGENT OF SATAN.

    Jehovah's Witnesses who are they?

The Watchtower society is big money, being one of the top 40 New York City Corporations making nearly one billion dollars a year. That's just from one of their many corporations. Unlike in the case of Christians who are persecuted in other lands for talking about Jesus Christ, Jehovah's Witnesses are largely persecuted for following the teachings begun during the second presidency of the Watchtower, when Joseph Rutherford took over in a corporate flap and began changing doctrines quickly in the Watchtower belief system.

He claimed that angels directly conveyed truth to some of those in leadership. He coined the name Jehovah's Witnesses to make them stand out from being witnesses of Jesus, a typical evangelical expression (and a Biblical one).

Rutherford dumped holidays, birthdays and the 1874 date for the invisible return on Christ, and invented an earthly class of Witnesses, since only 144,000 can go to heaven in their teaching. The rest, meaning all 99.9% of Witnesses still alive, will live forever on a cleansed earth, under the rule of the Watchtower leaders in heaven, who will keep them in line by local elders known as 'Princes'.

If you have been witnessed to by Jehovah's Witnesses and you reject their message, you will likely die shortly at Armageddon with all the other non-Witnesses, since theirs is the only true religion, and (if they can live up to all the rules) they are the only ones to inhabit this new earth. If you believe Witnesses seem rigid now, any non-conformist during the future cleansed earth will be directly destroyed by Jehovah. Even now a Witness will be disfellowshipped for any one of many gaffs, such as smoking, taking a blood transfusion, or even voting.

To even vocally question the teachings of the Watchtower will result in complete cutting off, with family and friends usually being forbidden to talk to them. The Watchtower is a truly Orwellian world, in a time when Orwellian societies are nearly obsolete.

Witnesses are shrinking in number in many Western countries,as the internet facilitates the spread of information (much of it critical of the Witnesses). Witnesses are cautioned against creating JW-related websites, largely to prevent their members from discovering the history and dirty laundry of this organization on other websites. (There are literally hundreds of former members pages in many languages.)

The Watchtower strives hard to control the flow of information to the individual Witness, and prefers that all instruction come through the magazines they carry door-to-door. Without this form of control, even as they themselves admit, they would believe just the same as other Bible believers.

My hope is that there will be a day in each of their lives when the Watchtower magazine is no longer needed, and they can go to college, vote for office, and contribute money and time to other, more vital causes in their community. More than likely they will then cease to be persecuted, except in a few societies more authoritarian than their own.

These ideas are well-thought-out over a very long life-time of multifaceted experiences. I'm NOT trying to convert/convince anyone to my way of thinking, but I'm convinced that 1% of people already think somewhat like this. So if you are in that 1% who agree, let me hear from you, & if you don't agree, just go on down the road & connect with someone you do agree with.
